Why is outdoor keypad successful today?


“Ease of access and use” is something which everyone aims for while designing any electronic or any general product for human uses. And this is exactly what we aimed for when we were designing POE outdoor keypad. Such keypads are used with the help of POE injector technology which ensures easy and cheap transfer of power to various devices as well as centralized management/operation of such devices.

Such keypads has various components like screen, its keypad part and its casing. All these components should be built using the best materials and should be never compromised on and that’s what we ensured while manufacturing outdoor keypad.

The screen/display is vandal proof, explosion proof,vibration proof, impact proof and cannot be dented with a screwdriver or a hammer.Moreover such keypads are extremely sensitive to fingers and gloves touches, while on the other hand; are completely compatible with underwater working conditions as they come with in-built sealing points.

Mostly, the rugged keypad has microprocessors installed in them for touch sensitivity. The touch circuit is designed in such a way that it is highly tolerant to the other electronic noises which makes the display sensitive to even lightest of the touches. Such keypad can also be called as Metal keypad as these are made from solid metals and are rugged enough to be outdoor environment compatible.

Other features for these keypads can include multiplexing. Multiplexing is very easy in these keypads. The switches can be directly multiplexed to the microprocessor and Continuous signals are produced when a switch is pressed; thereby maintaining a continuity in the information flow.

Keypad Display and its Importance Today

Keypad Displays are a huge craze today, due to their multiple uses and long shelf life. A good display has following characteristics:



    It should have good visibility
    It should have sharp and clearly visible information (numbers and texts)
    Best choices for harsh environments
    Should be reliable
    Resistant to liquids
    Should be properly sealed to avoid interaction with environment
    Should be rugged and robust to avoid any minor or some major damages due to mishandling
    Screen should be vandal proof, explosion proof and should not be dented with a screwdriver or a hammer.

    Should be sensitive to even lightest of touches

The other additional and essential part of a keypad display is its metal keypad. The keys are also available in various sizes and shapes like round or square

etc. This makes them apt even for the dark environments.

Most of the metal keypads are made from stainless aluminum or steel. They are designed in a way that they comply with the safety standards also. Some even

come with a tactile sensation so that the physically handicapped people can also use them. Apart from these, these can also be customized to meet any other

requirements as well. These are apt for indoor as well as outdoor applications.

These keypad displays can be powered using POE injector technology, which means that all the end point devices can be powered using Ethernet cables which
